Potty Training Suggestions

So we are trying to potty train our son. He goes to a preschool for speech and developmental help. They also are working with him. Here is my problem. He will take off his diaper when he wants a new one. He takes he diaper off at nap time and bed time and stays dry. As soon as he gets up though he normally pees in the floor. I have tried taking him to the potty when he gets up from sleeping, every thirty minutes and everytime he takes of his diaper. He seems afraid of the potty. I have the piece you put on the regular toilet and he also has his own size. I have tried putting him in underwear and that doesn't work. He normally plays with the potty but just wont sit on them for very long or use them. Any suggestions?

The only way my DS would sit on the potty is backwards. He would never use that piece I bought to make it his size. You can also try getting a stool and have him stand up. Make it a game put fruit loops or something in the toilet and have him aim. Try to make it fun for him get a sticker chart and let him no everyday he goes pee I'm the big boy potty he gets a sticker on the chart and after a set amount of days he gets a surprise. Good luck!!

Thanks for the suggestions. He has a sticker chart hanging in the bathroom. I have tried putting him on backwards and the fruit loops. I will keep trying that. He does have a stool he stands on to wash his hands so I will try having him stand. Thanks again

I had a hard time with my son.. until I made a sticker chart.. I put poop in the potty and pee in the potty and the days of the week and every time he does one of those though out the day. He get a sticker and puts it on that day.. and when he feels that week up . he get a special treat. I have done this for a week now and so far no accidents..
