My son was born 6 weeks early, and I've always been a bit concerned with his development because of it. He crawled relatively late (10 months), so at the time I was a little nervous there was a delay there. But he eventually did it. He started talking a bit early (said his first non-mama/dada word at 8 months, 'balloon'), and now he has about 25 words that I understand and he repeats often. He loves to point out and say Elmo and Ernie, kitties, and balls in books, and will point to his nose and his hair when asked to. He tells me when he's tired, or wants a drink, or a snack. I think he's mostly on par with his language, but he didn't start walking till last week. At fifteen months, he's just now wobbling around, trying to walk. He can only go five or ten steps, very slowly. I know they say not to worry if they walk late, but being preemie, my nerves are a little jumpy, you know? Anyone else have a late-walking preemie? Were there eventually any other motor delays that became issues?
