My daughter turned 2 in January. She is recently day time potty trained and is close to night trained. She wears panties in the day and Pull Ups to bed. This morning everything was fine, all of a sudden after her nap she was screaming and crying and refused to pee. She said it hurts and doesn't want to do it. I could hardly even get a look she wouldn't let me near. When I did finally calm her down enough to let me nothing looked red. Maybe a little bit of swelling around the area where the pee comes out, but not much if any. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions? I will make her an appoitment on Monday. I need to do something in the meantime, she is going to have to pee sooner or later. I don't know if it is irritation or an infection or what.
*Finally home from the doctor and have the kids in bed. Two and a half hours, 3 boxes of juice, water and plenty of encouragement she finally peed so they could test it. When she did pee she screamed like I have never heard her scream, it broke my heart. But turns out it is a bladder infection. She now has liquid antibiotics to take for the next week, but she should be turned around soon. Thank you all for the responses. I am hoping this is a one time issue and this is not something we need to repeat in the future. I will follow the cranberry advice and get her drinking. Thanks again ladies :) *
