Linda Evangelista in ugly court battle over son's expenses

Supermodel Linda Evangelista wants money. Lots of money.

She is fighting a nasty, headline-making battle in Manhattan family court - and is expected to take the stand today - as she is asking ex-boyfriend Francois-Henri Pinault, now married to Salma Hayek, to pay nearly $50,000 a month for child-rearing expenses.

Evangelista, 46, and Pinault have a 5-year-old son, Augustin (Augie), conceived during the couple's 2005 four-month affair.

But Pinault says Evangelista isn't seeking child support, but "mom support" as well, reports the New York Post. Augie's expenses include $15,000 to $16,000 a month for ex-NYPD detective chauffeurs, plus a 24-hour nanny at $7,000 a month.

But let's hope Augie never has to read the transcript of the courtroom drama. On Thursday, it was noted that when Evangelista broke the news that she was having Pinault's baby, he "suggested she terminate the pregnancy," attorney William Beslow said, reports AP.

On the stand, Pinault said he was "not involved in the decision" to have the child, but told Evangelista he would "recognize the baby." Later, his spokesman denied categorically that Pinault ever told her to have an abortion, reports the Daily News.

Although Evangelista has paid all the boy's expenses for most of his life, her roughly $1.8 million-a-year income took a major hit last year as a contract with L'Oreal ended, said her lawyer, William Beslow.

"It became necessary for her to go to the bullpen and ask the father for help," he told the court. "Ms. Evangelista is not looking to piggyback the lifestyle of Mr. Pinault."

But Pinault's camp says the supermodel is doing just that. A potential $46,000-a-month tab is "just ridiculous," Aaronson said.

Evangelista and Pinault, 49, dated in late 2005 to early 2006, though he testified Thursday that the couple spent only about seven days together over that time.

Pinault is the chief executive of PPR, which owns Gucci, Yves St. Laurent and other luxury brands. He makes about $4 million annually from a complex of his family's companies; Forbes recently estimated the family's net worth at $13 billion.

Some other details that have come out in court: Pinault and Hayek's 4-year-old daughter, Valentina, has been taken on a $52,000-plus 12-day vacation to Bora Bora and has a $12 million Los Angeles home in a trust for her - a step Pinault said he took to reassure Hayek she and the girl would have a home if the couple parted.

I get a kick out of how upset and JELOUS other woman get of another's life.  When you make MILLIONS of dollars that isn't anything.  Its all relevant to where you are in life.  to compare that your hubby makes poverty wages so that child whos parents are millionaires doesn't deserve it is whats really riduclious.
