Hey moms! just wanted to see if anyone elses children have been acting out and being defiant. My son can get very cranky for no reason he also has been hitting, punching, pinching, biting the whole 9 yards. I believe this is all part of the glorious "terrible two" stage :) (lucky us). Funny part but gets me upset is when he says "no i not a nice boy, im mean" lol kids! So any tips on how to deal with all this without getting stressed. We try to calm him down and talk to him when hes frustrated-that kinda works. We made "rules" for him. he recites the rules. No hitting, no fighting, no biting, no pinching etc.
HELP!!
What are you doing for discipline?
My 3 year old has not acted like that before. Her defiance is things like "Go put your shoes away" and then she says "no." She gets in big trouble when she says no to me. I count to 3 and if she still does not want to do what I am telling her to do, she gets sent to her room. When she is ready to come out, she has to apologize and do what I told her to do before she can go play.

We do the same thing u just explained usually the counting works with him...seldomly do we have to put him in his room....i guess it just seems like a learning curve for him....but it seems like im counting to 3 for everything!! haha if u know what i mean.....
I rarely hit him cause it just doesnt phase him....seems like he better when we talk things thru....when he was younger i tapped his hand when he was learning what to touch and what not to touch and to me that seemed to make him think its acceptable to hit me.....so i cut the hitting out a while ago

How old is your son? Mine is only 23 months old. He started that behavior about 6 months ago. It was when he had a major cold that went on a little to long so I took him to the doc and they said he had a major ear infection. Since then he has p[retty much been on meds the whole 6 months cause the ear infection keeps coming back. I can tell when he has one cause he starts hitting, whining and just being a pain in the butt :) We call him the little bear when he gets like that :0) I haven't figured out how to stop his hitting yet but I just remind myself that he could just be in pain. We are actually taking him in tomorrow morning to get the tubes put in his ears, hopefully it helps. So anyway maybe something could be upsetting your little one that you dont know about yet. My older daughter bit me once when she was that age and I bit her back (just enough for a little pinch on her!) and she said owe! and never did it again.. I tried to hit my son back lightly, of course, but he just keeps hitting me back.... he also throws his big trucks and toys at me and my daughter....Im pretty beat up :0) and tired
My two year old hits sometimes, and on very rare occasions bites his brother. Mostly he screams and yells and throws himself on the floor. Every time I tell him to do *any*thing it's always "nope." We're still trying to figure out what works best. Usually I send him to his room and ignore him until he's done.
She doesnt ever act like this and she wont quit! WTF?! Im 8 months pregnant so im sure thts adding to my frustration..
