What do you think of these tips?? Are they worth following!
Thanks a million! http://blog.brightnest.com/2012/05/08/11-steps-to-toddler-proof-your-house/
really, you posted this yesterday and now its POOF.. are you trying to promote your blog... ughhh go away
I didn't read it but I don't do too much as far as "proofing" my house. I do put outlet covers on all the outlets and keep baby gates up by all the steps (that's mostly for daycare purposes because I do childcare in my home) but other than that, I don't do much. I just teach my kids what they can and cannot touch or climb on.

i only have a gate so she cannot climb into the oven, washer or dryer my 2 yr old would try
Many of them hold true, that's for sure. I have found that the more you prevent the better things are. During the early toddler stages, you would think our house was a daycare or a prison LOL. There's NOTHING out!
The thing is to create a "yes" environment. (I didnt' come up with teh tagline). For example, instead of installing a trillion cabinet hooks and crap, I just took out all hazardous items out of the cabinets that line the floor. Instead, I use those to put things that are ok for baby to get. So, his items (bottles, cups, plates), tupperware containers, pots n pans, most cooking utensils (minus the sharps), etc. I am fine with my children playing with those things. (yes, I admit, I did more dishes as a a result from time to time).
Also, I put thier toys at thier level as well. They got to choose what they played with.
The hardest thing about our current living situation and oru Leo getting bigger are the stairs :/. We have a lot of them and we are looking for good gates. We do not have doors in front of our stairs, so we have to look for other methods to prevent falls.
