Help!!!! Bed time issues!

So my daughter is 15 mo. She always was a good sleeper - until recently. For the past 2 weeks she has put me through hell! She won't sleep! I put her in bed and ahe screams and screams until I take her out. If she is in my bed she is playing until she passes out. Then the minute I put her into her crib she's up and screaming again. What do I do? I've tried the cry it out method - but I live in an apt and there are neighbors who I'm sure don't wanna hear 45 mins of crying and I dont do the whole co-sleep thing. The dr recommended staying in the room with her as ling as she is not crying- well that doesn't work because she wants out and cries. Hellllllllp I'm so overtired it's not funny!

Yeah that's a toughy.  We went thru that stage with my son but he was much much younger.  When you CIO, did you just leave the room and let him scream for 45 mins or did you do the back and forth "method"?  When we had to do it we would go back in at 3 mins, lay hands on tummy and soothe (no picking up), leave for 3 mins, go back after 5 mins, so on and so forth.  It only took 1 night and I only had to go in a few times and he slept thru the night after that.  You could also speak with your neighbors and apologize ahead of time :)  Hopefully some have kids and will understand.  We lived in a townhome at the time so I know how that goes.

I sat with my daughter while she cried.  I talked to her the whole time.  She cried but she wasn't alone.  She was comforted.  I would lay her back down and rub her back.  Do you think she's ready for a big bed?  Maybe you could lay with her in her own big bed until she goes to sleep.  With my son I did that and just told him to lay down when he tried to play.  Your daughter might be too young to listen to that though.

Has anything changed in the last 2 weeks, btw?  If not, maybe she is just going through a growth spurt.  But if you can think of any changes, that might help to figure out what will work best for her.

I had to put DS in a big boy bed and lay down with him until he fell asleep. Now we have a routine and he takes his allergy meds, gets his milk, lays down to watch a movie, then out like a like. 8pm on the dot unless its the weekend. Same for my 9 year old DD and 19 month old DD. They go to sleep on their own now, but they know the routine and if we vary from it, boy do they get cranky!!!

We went through a really bad spell when my little one was about 17 months - it turned out it was because of her teething - Her eye teeth were coming through, when they came through we didn't have any problems getting her down and to stay sleeping all night. Good luck!

Thanks everyone - maybe it is her molars - they're taking forever to come through.
