Dear Moms:

Can you share some recommendations on best activity books or products for preschoolers that can keep them occupied during long international flight? I have a 3 year old boy and 4 year old girl.

Thank you very much in advance. Regards.

I loved the crayola color wonder sets when dh and i flew from hawaii to florida with our son who was 3 at the time. The ones with the "clear" markers that just show up on the special paper.

I went to walmart and loaded up on little toys...transformers, stickers, color wonder paint, little cars/airplanes. But the best thing was a portable dvd player I borrowed from my friend. My 3 yr old liked watching his dvds on the plane at bedtime. We also bought the C.A.R.E.S. harness from amazon. Kept him in his seat for hours. Also get to the airport extra early and let them run around the whole time until you board.

For each item you buy (stickers, colors, etc) wrap it up like a gift. And only give them one at a time (like every hour).

Legos (if they like that) in sandwich bags; new, little toys that they've never seen before that you can break out when their interests wane; a portable DVD player to play their favorite DVDs; and iPod (with headphones) to listen to their favorite music. Also, walking up and down the aisle of the plane (supervised, of course). And snacks. Lots and lots of snacks. Bon voyage!

My son brought his leapster explorer and it kept him busy for a while. I also payed for a movie on my kindle while j had Internet acsess and they were able to watch that. I would also recommend that you load up on shacks once you get past security. All of nh flights were late landing so I had NO tine to feed Mg kids other than what the airline gave us.

Go to the dollar store and load up on lots of small toys, coloring books and crayons, travel games, etc. Keep them in your bag; don't let the kids see anything ahead of time. Once you're on the plane, give them something every 30mins-1hr or so. It's like Christmas morning, lol.

Snacks are a must. Load up your bag with things like goldfish crackers, cheese-its, etc. Nothing liquid--you will have to get that after you go through security. But dry snacks are fine. And WAY cheaper to bring with you than to buy them there.
