Ok, we got the potty training down, but how do I teach a little boy to wipe his own behind? I have tried and have been met with disaster! How he managed to get it up his back, on his tummy and down a leg I will NEVER know. What can I do??

My son is 5 1/2 and can wipe himself but it takes 1/2 a roll :) i usually finish up to make sure he's clean. 3's a little young but just keep him working at it.
We have also told him he needs to wipe until it's clean. We've tried flushable wipes; he hates them. Someone in this group suggested having a stack of TP already ripped into 3-4 sheets to keep him from using too much... But I haven't made that happen yet. :-)
My son had been potty trained for almost a year and a half. Wiping is just hard to figure out, I think. It's a hassle for us as moms I know, but I think this is one that requires additional support/patience.
My big ds did not get that part down until he was about 4.5 or so. Maybe get him some Kandoos or other flushable wipes.

3 is still young to know how to properly wipe their bums. my dd is 3 and can't even reach all the way back there (to do it the proper way). she can do it back to front (NO!) so i help her. i've been told by many moms that they don't properly do it utnil they're closer to 5/6yrs old
