At what age did you stop using Pull Ups at night? *UPDATED*

I am wondering when would be the best time to start weaning my ds (3) off the nighttime Pull Ups.  He knows that while he is awake he has to use the bathroom, even if he is wearing a nighttime Pull Up for bed.  During the day he only wears regular underwear (whitey tighties we call them).

At what age did your kids stop using them?  I know when I was kid, we did not have stuff like Pull Ups or the nghttime version (yeah, I am that old) so when did all that change?  Thanks for the advice!

Update:

Thank you ladies, you all gave me some great ideas to try. I appreciate your input, and it will help hubby and I figure out what steps to try. Thank you again!

2ND UPDATE: MY SON DECIDED ON HIS OWN TO GO WITHOUT PULLUPS AND FOR 3 NIGHTS HE HAS BEEN COMPLETELY DRY IN THE MORNING!!!!!  Sorry for "screaming" it but I am SO PROUD of him!!!!! Whoot Hoot!!!!!  Thanks Ladies!

My DD will be 3 in August and she still wears a pull up to bed.  Sometimes she stays dry, sometimes she is wet in the mornings.  It is hit or miss.  Everytime I think she has figured out the night time potty business and take her out of pull ups I end up having to change her sheets in the middle of the night.  During the day she wears regular panties and for the most part she wears panties during her naptime.  (Because she will just fall asleep on her bed when she is tired.)

My boys on the other hand were potty trained completely by 3.   I don't know what the difference is.  My boys didn't start potty training until they were 2.5, whereas my girl began potty training at 18 months.

We stored using them after he would stay dry all night most nights. Maybe@3.5 ...It depends when their bladder is physically ready . That and no liquids about an hour before bed.

my dd is in the same boat and she'll be 4 on monday.  i asked my sister the same question and she said when the pullup is dry for 2 straight weeks in the morning, you can do away with them.

i've noticed dd's night pullup is not as full so i think she's getting there.  let it happen, it will happen.  if you force it, he'll be waking with a wet bed :(  he's still little and night training takes a lot longer for some kids.

I got lucky.  Caden stopped waring pullups at night shortly after becoming potty trained during the day.  He didn't wet himself at night at all for a few weeks afterwards,. so I just put underwear on him :).

My dd day and night potty trained at the same time. My ds has been day trained for a month but still wakes up with a wet diaper most mornings. Day and night potty training are completely different. When she wakes up dry every morning, you can't get rid of them.

My youngest stopped right after his 4th birthday.  When he started having dry Pull-ups in the morning, we switched to underwear at night.  He doesn't have accidents and if he does have to go in the middle of the night, he is able to wake up and go to the bathroom.  My oldest took longer because he is also special needs.  He was 5 (almost 6) when he stopped wearing them at night.

Once we started potty training, we stopped using Pull-ups. Since becoming potty trained for almost two years, our daughter hasn't needed anything at night. You could get a waterproof pad to put on the bed. I think Good Nites or something makes disposable pads for the bed. She was a little over 3 years old when she stopped using Pull-ups.
