Neighbors Downstairs

Have came to my house abt 4x and we've only lived here a month and half. 1x was because we was in the parking space that she needed. and the other 3 was because my kids were jumping too much and it woke her baby. I completely understand and ive been working on my kids (theyre 4, 2, and 11months). We take them to the park everyday for hours just so it can give the lady downstairs a break. we just got in at 11:00 and she's knocking at our door at 11:10. She comes by during the day too.

Now im stuck in a situation, im trying to see what i need to do. Before I took this apartment, the office manager meet my kids and everything. I explained to her i didnt want a 2nd floor apartment, she assured me "its ok, kids will be kids" and she told me not to worry abt it. but what am i supposed to do, when this lady knocks at my door? I feel like i need to move.

that's the same thing my mom said, that probably why the other tenants moved.

And the parking situation, She came up and told me the office manager said she could have the parking space, she said she needs it for her daughter. Ive seen her daughter and her daughter is the one that walks up to my apartment, she seems prefectly fine. But my neighbor ended up complaining to the maintenance man abt me, and he told the manager, the manager called me and asked what happened, i told her what happened. She then told me, that ,that parking space isnt my neighbor's and next time i dont need to move.

Quoting I_told_you_so:

I agree.  Talk to your landlord.  If the previous tenents moved because of the woman too, maybe they can do something.   That or tell her that the landlord says you're fine and she needs to chill.

I'm wondering about the parking space - are they assigned parking spaces or something?  Why did you need to give up your parking space for her???   If the spaces aren't assigned, I'd say that you need to tell her to MHOB.

Quoting LaMamiDeJase:

thanks ladies! I personally thing they are overreacting, but i guess everyone is different.

 She's a newborn maybe 2 or 3 months old.

If the manager isn't worried, I wouldn't worry. If the neighbor is bugging you, talk to the manager and let them deal with her. She shouldn't be allowed to harass you. You are doing what you can. She will understand that when her kid is older. How old is this baby? Maybe she is sleep deprived...no excuse by the way.  Good Luck!

Oh ok, maybe sleep deprived. Still no excuse. She should have handled it much better. If it were me, I probably would be at your door apologizing like crazy for saying anything but explaining that I've had no sleep and a newborn and to please be careful as you can. This lady just handled it all wrong.  No matter what, she has no right to harass you. SHowing up at your door 10 minutes after you get home is ridiculous.  If she has complaints, she can talk to the manager or better yet..she should move.  You have a right to do what you want in your home and you taking the kids the park just to give her a break is very kind and she should appreciate that.  Good Luck with your situation and I hope things get better soon.

just tell your office everytime she comes to talk to you and what it is about.  Not a complaint but just in case she complains on you and see if maybe they get a downstairs for you.  A lot of apartments don't have the proper insulation between floors.  Just let the office know what's going on, to cover your own self you know?  Good luck hun.

as for the parking, if anybody is handicap then they can get a sign for that spot.  A couple of people in my apartments have one that's a sign on a short post at the parking spot to let people know that this is THEIR parking spot and to please not park there.  :)

Talk to the apartment manager to see what options you have. It isn't fair to your kids to have to be quiet of out of the house all day! And it certainly isn't fair to consider moving your entire family AGAIN after such a short time because of a rotten egg!!

My sister had this same problem. The lady below her would come up daily and complain. On the day that my mawmaw passed away, the lady came up 5 mins after my sister got home and my sister's kids weren't even there!! My sister went off on her and said things I won't repeat on here. Then my sister went to managment and told them what was going on. They basically said "X needs to get over it, she choose a downstairs apartment so now she has to deal with it." The manager also said that as long as it's not late at night or super early in the morning, basically, if the sun is up, the kids can do whatever they want, they're kids.
