I was hoping to get my daughters into some form of activity this summer. I was thinking dance since they seem to really enjoy it. So I'm curious, at what age did you let your dd/ds start taking certain lessons?
My DD is just barely 3 yrs. old and she just started dance. Her therapist told me to put her in it because it's one of the best exercises. She loves it! I started my DS in gymnastics @ 3.

we enrolled dd in swimming and gymnastics at 2YO. then ballet at 3YO. we're going to continue ballet when the next round comes up; sometime in august. we're also thinking gymnastics again because dd really liked that
My daughter will be three in October. I am thinking about dance also. I want to start exposing my daughter to different things. My son, we have tried bowling and soccer so far and he is four. Next year, we will try t-ball. We like to keep the kids busy and active.
Both of my kids did Little Gym when they were just walking. Not sure how old your kids are but, usually before 3 activites are parent/tot. My DD is in regular gymnastics now and the Fall session will be her first without me in class. My son started taking ice hockey learn to skate lessons at 4 but has been skating since he was 2.
we started kindermusic at 6 months (until she was 3) soccer at 18 months, art classes at 2.5, t-ball at 3, dance at 3, gymnastics at 4. We are currently looking into piano and karate and she will continue with gymnastics and art.
My 13-year-old has taken ballet since she was five, modern since she was ten (the dance program has a waiting list), and now my 3-year-old is on the waiting list; she cannot start until she is six-the program is aligning itself with L.A.U.S.D. age requirements (her birthday is December 31st and the cut-off date is December 2nd). The program used to allow three and four year olds to take pre-ballet, but many accidents happened. Instead of the ballet teacher focusing on turns, he or she had to focus on cleaning up the urine in the studio. It is not that five years old or kindergartners do not have accidents, it is just too many accidents occurred among the three and four year olds and pre-ballet is only an hour and fifteen minutes.
