The other day I was out with my MIL shopping for a B-day presesnt for my 4 year old at Toy R US, as I was getting out of the car I noticed a child run out of the store across the crosswalk and continure into the parking lot without an adult, at first I thought "uh oh" he's got ahead of his parents as they were leaving, but then no one came out, well he had to have been no more then 4, instinctively I walked over to him and told him we should go back into the store to find his parents. I took him to the customer service desk told them I found him in the parking lot and then let them do what they needed to get him back to his parents. As soon as I did that an elderly gentleman came around the corner and didn't seem to worried at all to have him back, I told him where I found him and suggested he put the boy in a cart. My MIL and I continued with our shopping but that little boy was all over that store without his grandpa by his side, there's nothing I could do about that but it was pretty frustrating seeing such irresponsibility from the adult and such misbehavior from the child.
My MIL and I were chatting and were discussing whether it was the right thing to do by me taking the child inside, my opinion I woudl do it again, I feel it was the right thing to do, she brought up that if anything happened to the child while with me I would be help responisble(whatever). What would you have done?
