So I am actually getting suggestions for a friend of mine. She has 3 boys ages 3-9, and the bathroom the boys use is half tile, half carpet. Don't ask me why. Anyways, the bathroom always stinks like pee. I am looking for relatively cheap ways to keep the stink down without deep-cleaning the carpet everyday. Thanks ladies!

rip up the carpet and put in tile
make them clean it so that they remember to aim better

Steam cleaning in a bathroom will make it worse because the steam cleaner will not totally get up the water which can cause mold. I would suggest ripping up the carpet and buying a sheet of linoleum or the tiles. The other suggestion would be a couple of the mats that surround the toilet and washing them daily.
