She loves the fruit ones. Lol I need to take the other's to a shelter.. But just wanna know how many mama's made their baby food

Ooo! How nice! I wish, I live in an apartment no garden area here

I not only made most of my baby food, I grew a lot of it in the garden.  DS was born in January, so I was harvesting right as he was ready for purees.  I loved that it would go from the plant to his tummy within two hours!

I didn't give my 1st meat till she was 2, I only ate fish when she was a baby.. And she only eats chicken now no pork (I don't eat pork) and I don't give her red meat. My SO is allll about meat and is already asking me when am I gonna add meat to my son's veggies.. Lol crazy!! Maybe @ 1!

Yes. My oldest refused to eat the store bought stuff. So, I would just steam veggies and mash them, mince the meat and she was good to go. I carried on and did the same for my youngest.

Yes, and it was so easy and much healthier for them.

I would like to add that I did keep a few organic baby food jars to throw in the diaper bag.  If we were out and about and were not going to make it home in time for lunch or if the homemade food I had with me was not enough for that meal I had a back up.

I made them for ds until I learned about baby led solids. Then we switched to that approach. He's an adventurous eater now, though he doesn't usually eat large quantities unless its one of his favorite foods, like salmon, hummus, beans or fruit. He also eats lots of veggies raw because that's how we eat them - in salads - or he'll want to try a bite as I'm cutting stuff up for dinner. He chowed down on raw zucchini the other night and loved it! LOL. He eats cauliflower florets like popcorn. I'd never give him commercial baby food. Yuck!

I did for a few months. She started solids at 5mo and WIC didn't kick in until 6mo with the jars. I kept on making some fruits and red beats for a few months after because she liked my versions better.

I have made my own baby food for Ds. He mostly eats table food now ( he is 9 1/2 months). I do keep a little packaged organic baby food on hand just incase I need it
