Beat the Heat Challenge Day 2: Nature Scavenger Hunt
There are so many possibilities for your nature scavenger hunt!
Make a list of items in your area that your child will be able to find. You can either collect the items or just find them and cross them off your list. This activity can last a half hour or half the day depending on the length and difficulty of your list!
Here's an example of the list my kids used when we went to a local park.
Nature Scavenger Hunt
Large rock
Small rock
A small stick
A pine cone or something that fell off a tree
Something green
Something yellow
Something hard
Something soft
A flower
Something noisy
Two different shaped leaves
A three leaf clover
What will you add to your list? Will you go to a park, your backyard, or somewhere else for your nature scavenger hunt?

Maybe try taking pictures instead and having him find what's in the pictures...or try matching up the pictures from where you take them...example...take a picture of a swing and take him to the park so he can find a swing.

My ds is too young to do this. He's just now learning the names of stuff
..
I know the perfect nature trail we could do this on! Of course, we could probably go for a walk around the neighborhood as well. I can't think of anything we could add... Maybe mud or an insect... Puddle of water or a bird... Maybe even a bird's nest. Something circle, something square.
