Not sure what you consider big. For us we had both kids 1st birthday party, over 100 people

For each party after we keep it small, under 50 people. Both kids usually gets a friend party and a family party. friend party is usually about 30 people and family party is 45-50 people.

Do what she wants. She's old enough to voice her opinion. My dd had no problems telling me when she turned 2 who she wanted to invite and who she didn't. Lol

yeah, i guess it just depends.  for both kids we had huge 1st birthdays and then family only for their 2nd.  now they are just family and close friends.  dd's party on saturday was about 30 people (13 kids and 17 adults)

I would do whatever is easiest for you guys to make happen.

My dd is turning 2 at the end of the month.  I am doing a small party for my friends that have kids, and another small one for family.  Its actually less stress for me that way.  Good luck.

At 2, she will remember almost nothing, if anything.  The only reason she even knows it is her birthday is because you tell her.

When our kids were that small, we used the birthday as an excuse to have a  cookout with our friends... throw in a cake and a few party hats, and we all had a blast.  The kids look at pictures and are so excited that all their "aunts" and "uncles" came to their party...  I wouldn't invite any childen that you do not have a close relationship with the parents, because frankly, she won't remember, and why make it hard (or expensive) on yourself?

yea the problem i have is my family lives in NJ and my husbands in NY and we live in WV with no family i just have my mother  and not many friends so what i was thinking was going to Nj the weekend before and just doing something small at my dads with family and close friends like 10 people and then the weekend after going to my sisters and taking her to the big fair they are having there but not sure i dont think i am really going to invite my hubbys family because i dont think they would travel for something small and we will be going to see them for thanksgiving anyway....
