I get dirty looks for not wanting my child to eat candy at two? Really????
My LO just turned 2, and I am proud of myself for keeping her (an myself) on a healthy diet. This includeds fruits, veg, cheeses, high protien and whole grains. Let me just say I am APPAULED at what I see the things people will let their children eat!!!! Sodas, candy, and tons of chips and sweets at 2 years old or younger!!!! Really?????
My LO just recently started Preschool, and when I let them know that she is not allowed to have any "sweet" treats of any kind unless it is for a b-day in the classroom, the aid looked at me like I was a tyrant! I made the comment that my child has had 1 sucker in her entire life (mainly because hard candy is a choking hazard). I do not want to fight that battle in the grocery store check-out line etc....you know, the kids who are throwing a total tantrum for all the junk food? She doesn't have it, therefore she doesn't know or want it....simple (for now). I just don't want my child addicted to sweets. It just amazes me that with all the information out there on sodas and a high sugar diet that people shovel this crap at their kids and say it makes good "bribery" tools. Seriously????
What do you consider "bad" foods for children?
