Potty training. I have read articles upon articles but, I want personal mom perspectives. Here is what dd knows, does and doesn't do.
She knows that mommy does pee pee and poop in the potty and that big girls do too.
She tells me right AFTER she went instead of telling me before so I can put her on the potty.
She is aware that she is wearing different "diapers" now (pull ups) and she is excited about them (because they have princesses on them).
She doesn't feel the "cool" sensation the pull ups said they have.
She hasn't mastered pulling her own pants and pull up down.
And I'm pretty sure she doesn't know the feeling BEFORE you have to go to the potty.
Any ideas, suggestions, stories that would be of help is greatly appreciated. Thanks ladies!
BTW she is 22 months.
From what you've said, I think she's still a bit too youn perhaps. I think that she needs to know how to pull her own pants up and down. I'm not saying give up completetly, but I woujldn't expect her to be fully potty trained any time soon :P
Quoting corrinacs:

I've just been teaching her that this week so I don't blame her that she doesn't know. I am not expecting her to know tomorrow I'm just trying to see if I am on the right track. I have patience lol thank God.
I did the bare bottom method. My son wasn't able to really pull his pants down yet when he was out of diapers. I had to go with him but he did good with few accidents. He was 19 months.
My son never really pulled his pants down before potty training, but I'd start with putty her on the potty a couple times a day. We always did at wake up and before bath. See how she responds. My son also didn't start tellin us when he needed to go until a couple weeks after potty training. If she goes when you put her on for a while, then you can maybe try in a couple weeks if she seemed ready.
22 months is a little young. Before you started her on pull up how long was she staying dry? If she can't hold herself for 2 hours, it might not be quite time.
We introduced all the things you did to DS around 23 months and he did a lot of the same things she's doing. At about 25 months, we went straight for big boy underwear. They don't like to feel wet and the pull ups are still like diapers. Within about 3 days he was pee trained and we're about 75% there for poop and we're about 2 months into big boy underwear.
We talk a lot about not wanting to pee pee or poop on whatever charecter he's wearing. It makes Thomas, Bat Man, etc sad when you pee pee or poop on them. It makes mommy happy when you _____ in the potty like a big boy.
