Getting a stool sample from a (mostly) potty trained toddler

My son is 2 and poops on the big potty.  I need to get a stool sample, but he refuses to poop in the collection thing.  he just laughed at me and said"poop doesn't go there, poop goes in potty"  I have tried bribing him.  It's not working.  Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Can you put him on the little potty just this once? Or put the collector from the baby potty under him " just this once"

He never would use the little potty, even when he was just starting to potty train.  And he takes the collector out of the big potty when he has to poop.  Or he refuses to poop.

As gross as this sounds, could you get a fish net and fish it out afterwords?

unfortunately, it's not supposed to touch the water.  it could throw off the test.

I have thought about that.  I may try it tomorrow, but I think he'll just take it off.
