Question for moms who formula fed **UPDATE**

Posted by   + Show Post

When did you stop giving your child formula? My son will be 13 months on feb. 7. but he is still on formula because regular milk hurts his stomach and he can't keep it down. My daughter is on a toddler formula and when we tried him on it he didn't like it. So I was just wondering how long other infants were on formula.

My sons doctor said to wait about a month and then try him on the toddler formula again. He says that he just may not be ready for milk yet and to try it later.

We switched at 1 yr to milk. Do you know why his tummy is upset? Have you tried lactaid milk (lactose free) or soy?

By 12 months, my daughter was drinking whole milk. My son is 13.5 months old and is now drinking whole milk, but is also finishing up the rest of his last can of formula. :)

That happened with my DD at 12months.

Her doctor said to just keep her on formula but try again in a month or two.
I waited another month and tried again. Adding more and more cows milk to her bottle and she did fine that second time around.

I started by gradually adding more and more milk each day to his bottles. But after a few days it upset his stomach each time.

I switched my son at 11 months well started transitioning him he was fully on milk at 12 months. Did u add milk to his formula first? Or go straight to milk?

Try almond, or coconut, or rice, or hemp milk.

DS was off formula and therefore bottles by 14 months. He also has a sensitivity to cows milk which totally stressed me out until our pediatrician told us he doesn't have to have whole milk he can get calcium from other sources such as calcium fortified foods (eggos, yogurt even some juices). We also give him some calcium supplements and he's 3 now and doing great!
