Our New Years resolution as a family was to eat a more balanced diet. Easy enough right? Add in veggies and fruits more, take away some sugar, add a bit of protein. As balanced as we can get with a 21 month old. And with my husband deployed, the rule obviously doesn't apply to him, though I told him to try as much as he can to keep it balanced.

He hasn't been to fond of a lot of fruits and veggies since we started this and his favorite thing has been those toddler fruit/veggie pouches. *Any other  ideas would be great!

I just fed DS lunch, cheese sticks and peas. He ate 4 MOMMY SIZE handfuls! He loves peas! I am so so happy! :) I know its silly to get excited about this but anything that isn't french fries, chicken, and chips is a huge thing! :)

I am one happy mommy! And as silly as it is I want to go make some cookies now and celebrate!

Way to go! I have a toddler (age 2) and I try to keep things balanced, too. I try to incorporate a protein, vegetable, fruit, grain and dairy in every meal.

Here are some of the healthy snacks I have tried successfully.

Cut up grapes

Unsweetened applesauce

Mixed veggies (defrosted from frozen bag)

Bananas

Baby carrots with ranch dip

Cucumber slices with ranch dip

Raisins

Craisins

Pickles

Corn

Blueberries

Strawberries

Raspberries

There are so many good foods out there!

My son has always liked foods that most kids don't like. Onions, peppers, tomatoes, broccoli, spicy guacamole, tobasco sauce. Recently he decided nhe doesn't like potatoes anymore. Or eggs if there's cheese on them. He says its just really nasty and he isn't going to be eating it anymore. Lol

THat's awesome mama!  Its a step by step process.  Just keep going.  I didn't know my son loved spinach and beets until I started doing the same thing you are doing :)
