my oldest is 2 1/2 and i was debating on if we should give him some chores or not. Nothing big it would be help make his bed, brush his teeth, pick up his toys, a help mommy with laundry. He does all these thing already but I thought that if we give him a chore list and say if he does all this he get a new hot wheels or money into a piggy bank. Dh thinks he might still be to young, but I think that since he does all these things already most day this will teach him responsibility and to earn things he wants. So do you ladies use chore charts and allowance system with your toddlers. does it work well? do you have a specific system that your kids like?
My DD3 and DS1 have these already. They clean up their room, take their dishes to the kitchen, help with laundry, pick up toys in the house, and my DD helps me cook at times. She get money for her money bear and can get something at the dollar store and my son gets little candy treats. They love it! My husband and I both agree that it is never too young to start learning. His son (15) started when he was about 1yo too and now he is quite the entrepreneur. He always has money and is trying to figure out how modify game controllers and sell them.
what is a money bear? is it like a piggy bank?

Yeah. It is something that her older brother gave to her. She loves it and it is a great motivator. We are going to take it with us on our trip to NJ thurday.

my son has been in charge of feeding the dog since he was about two. He is now four and he helps put his own clothes away pickup his toys and dust. As he gets older we will add more things
My 5 year olds has to clean up her toys and put her plates in the sink. She likes to put away folded laundry.
