Last summer DD shown interest in the potty.. OK.. lets try and see what happens. She liked using the potty but not 100%. One day we stayed home and she wore training panties.. had accidents all day. OK.. not as ready as we thought she was. Thanksgiving we started full on potty training.

Fast forward to now.. she still wets the bed at night (lucky if she has a night a week that she doesn't wet the bed) and has at least two accidents a day. She'll say potty after an accident, when she has to go she may or may not tell you she has to. She doesn't mind being wet all that much but doesn't like if she had a poop accident.

So today someone mentioned putting her back into diapers. I don't know. Once a week she'll be accident free until early evening. We'll ask her if she has to go potty or just take her in the bathroom and she'll use the potty. I hate to spend the money on diapers again and feel like we've both failed. (The whole laundry thing isn't an issue, I do laundry throughout the week regardless.)

So, would you keep with having her wear panties or give in and put her back into diapers?

Last night I broke down and went to Walmart and bought cheap pull ups against my better judgement. $7.97 or so for a pack of like 26. Not bad I guess. But I still see them as fancy diapers. I showed her how excited I was for her "new panties" with the pretty princesses, stars and hearts on them. I was rushing to get dinner started and she went off to play, had an accident. Put her in the pull ups and continued on with dinner. She was fine up until she had a coughing fit and then she had another accident. Got her to bed later on with pull ups on, she woke around 4:50am and I took her straight to the potty since she was still dry and she went. I put her back in panties this morning and have stayed on top of the time, snacks and drinks today and she has yet to have an accident. It may not be much, but it's still something to be excited about.

I think putting her in diapers/pull upd will revert her back. My DH put put DS1 in pullups for our move and he reverted back.

she's still super young!  it really doesn't sound like she's totally ready yet.  at the very least you should have her in something for sleeping.  you can't train her to stay dry at night so don't even fight that battle until she's waking up consistently dry.  as for the day stuff, that's up to you.  if she's having more accidents than success at this point, go back to pull ups for a while.  if you are fine toughing it out then do that.  your call.  if she was 4 i would say underwear 100% but she's still a baby.

Do you put her on the potty thru out the day or just ask? Ds is 2 1/2 and stays dry thru the night. What i did was pick him up and just him on the potty once or twice at night. Now he'll wake up to tell me he has to pee.

I would keep her in the panties. It takes time and patience and as long as you guys don't mind the laundry why go back? we will all have our opinions but do what you think is the right thing. My son is 2 next month and fully potty trained. It can be done as long as you keep trying.

That's what I'm worried about. She will do awesome one day, slack the next. Heck, even when we're out and about she won't have an accident. OK no I take that back.. Saturday was the first and only out and about accident that she's had. LOL

I thought about that - but she still wakes at night and we take her to the bathroom regardless if she wants a drink or had a bad dream so I may put more thought into night time coverage.

We do both. When she's in daycare they go on her cues only.
