I am a stay at home Mommy of a 3 and 4 year old. A friend asked me to babysit her 10 year old and 5 month old. Monday tru Friday. Ten hours a day. how much should i charge? im thinking  $180 a week for both. both parents work btw. Does that sound fair? I dont have to drive anywhere and its just until school starts. Please help. ive looked online but they all say $8 to $11 an hour.  I think thats just for like a day. IDK what do you think?

In my area it is 25 a day per child. Sometimes small discount for siblings

The in home daycare my kids go to is 85 a week before they're potty trained and then 75 a week when they r potty trained. That's cheap compared to everywhere else lol and my friends runs it out of her house.

I babysit a friends 20 month old from 8-5 and they pay me $40 a day. If his big sister (10 yrs old) comes, they pay me $60.

My initial thought was $180 seemed high. But then I did the math and $180 for 50 hours a week breaks down to $3.60 per hour. If this is going to be "under the table" money for you, I think it's more than fair. You could even ask for $200 a week which would break down to only $4 per hour. With both of them working, they should be able to swing it and if they wanna bitch tell them to put the kids in daycare, I guarantee they'll pay more there.

Daycare would be at least $250 a week. I wouldn't do it for less then $200 if the 10-yr-old is fairly easy.

That works out to $30 a day.  I believe that is fair.  For one I charge $100 a week.  So if you think about it it is $15 a day for each child or $10 for the older child and $20 for the baby per day.  Either way I think this is fair.  When I needed care for my two I was charged $40 a day for both.

I was paying a babysitter 150 a week for 2 children under 2. And it was so cheap because the woman used to babysit me and my brother. I think 180 is fiair especially if you supply the food.

Thanks for your help. I told her 180 or at least 170 but she thought it was too much. She used to pay 70 just for the 10 year old! A week. I was charging her 50. The rest was for the baby. She found another babysitter.
