My 17 month old ds is refusing actual vegetables lately. Will only eat then maybe 1-2 times a week.

He loves the Gerber veggie stix and also the adult kind that look like green crunchy fries.

Is that some what of an ok vegetable substitute lol

I don't think so - they have a lot of sodium.

No, those things aren't healthy at all. Try a green smoothie, or green Popsicle. My daughter eats several homemade Popsicles a day, usually with spinach and kale in them lol.

My peditrician has always told me not to worry when they go through spurts where they stop eating a food group.  As long as it doesn't last, it's not the end of the world if they don't eat perfectly every single day.

She also said that as long as they are eating fruits to compensate for not eating veggies, it's ok for now.

They are!

Have you tried baking shredded veggies into muffins? You can also shred them into spaghetti sauce for an added boost!

I think hiding the veggies would be better

I'd say no.  The reason being is those are a "snack" and the processing of them makes them lose some of hte nutrients that you'd like out of veggies.

They are a better altnerative, usually, to regular potatoe chips.

No, I would keep offering different veggies and maybe mix them with other food. Maybe mix in a little veggie baby food in spaghetti or something. Maybe add dips too for the veggies

Hide veggies into spaghetti sauce, meatloaf, meatballs, muffins.

Those things are loaded with sodium and bad for you. My kids don't eat veggies everyday but I hide them often enough it's not a big deal
