My daughter has a temp of 99 but she's acting normal. Is that considered a fever, and should I be worried?

It's a low grade fever. I'd just watch her today.

Some kids are fine even with fevers (act normal, still run around & play). We usually only give medicine if DS is acting really sick and has a fever (which is usually what happens when he has one)

What kind of thermometer are you using?. The normal eanges are different on different tyoes of thermomet ers. Of she doesn't seem off then I wouldn't worry and let her body do its thing.

Thank you ladies for the response

I'm using a digital thermometer under her arm.

This morning her skin was really hot to the touch

i wouldn't worry over 99.  more than the number, her behavior is the most telling.  if she's acting fine but you think she's coming down with something, just have her at home and resting today.

Could be teething, with the low fever.

99 is not considered a fever. Anything over 103 is a fever. Nothing is needed for a 99° temp.

Did you take the temperature in the mouth, underarm, rectally???

99 isn't anything to worry about especially if she's acting fine.

My son is 17 months old and is running a fever of 101.6 but he is also getting in like 8 teeth and is very cranky. :-( trying tylenol and going to try a cool bath come nap time. He has been running a fever since yesterday morning.

Not something I'd worry about at all. :)
