potty training

My niece will be 2 in February. I had her use a potty a month ago because I needed a urine sample to take to the lab. I tried a few times. Only pooped once and peed once inside.. I praised her. She follows other to bathroom and sees what we do. She also sits on the potty sometimes and one time pretended to wipe herself. She sometimes but not always lets us know if she pooped in diaper. She knows what pee pee is and for poop we use caca And she knows what that is too. I ask her if she is pooped or wet and sometimes she will let me know other times she will say no a lot even if she is. Her answer is always no to many things. When she follows me I say mommy pee pee. I'm trying to train now (I bought undies and plastic covers) because I need to save money, also because her mom wastes diapers. For example I see clean ones on the floor all dirty. And who knows what else she does so basically she's throwing my money away. And im trying to go natural with her like I am with my ds, I use cloth diapers for him. I take her every 30 min at least but she never goes. But minute later she pees on herself. Also her doc referred me to a specialist because of an autism questionnaire. Not sure if that means she has it or not. Plus her mom and dad both have mental problems along with both sides of family. And my sis done stuff while pregnant with her and when she was a few months old. So basically should I wait or just keep trying every half hour? I don't remember how old my Dd (now 6) was when I trained her maybe 2 or 2 1/2 and I remember it going well. Help me please :/ oh and I also tell/show my niece if she needs to pee she can use the potty and I point to it. And I tell her to take her clothes off.. she knows what take off means. But she looks at me like what am I talking about. And the pointing thing well for example she knows what pillow is and If I say give me pillow please she looks around like she doesn't know what I'm pointing at. Same goes for many other things even if she knows what it is.

My daughter is 2 as well and I have been working on potty training since her 2nd birthday in September. She seems to always go within a hour after she eats especially in the afternoons after she eats which is about the time she always poops. For instance, she eats lunch around noon and finishes around 12:30 or 1 so I immediately put her on potty and she goes after about a half aaa hour or so always between 1 and 3. The only problem is that she is not able to tell me yet. I do have her on pull ups right now and whenever she is able to tell me I will put panties on her. When she does go she gets to watch some really cute potty songs motivating children to use the potty on YouTube. One that I found is Elmo's dad introducing the potty to Elmo and he sings a very cute song motivating Elmo to use it which she loves to watch. I am hoping that this will motivate her to use it. It might take some time but just keep trying other ways to do so until you find something that works.

She love Elmo. And I tried undies and waterproof pants but omg I cant do it.. plus it just leaks out all the time. So I guess ill have to buy pull ups. Ill try to see if she is ready. Or ill just wait til she is a lil over 2.
