Toddler not using his words... REALLY need help :( **Update**Update again!!!**
So my son does indeed have autism. Its new on the spectrum, its called PDD. We are working to get him therapy as we speak. Thank you ladies for everything. My mind is now at ease knowing that its something we can work on, and that it isnt/wasnt my fault that my child is struggling. Now I know we can get him the help we needs. I appreciate all of your help and comments :)
I have been too anxious about this so I decided to take some of you guy's advice and get him evaluated. Im looking for free programs in FL with some luck. Praying and hoping we find the right resources. Im hoping at the very least this will calm my anxiety, even if its just me being overparanoid. Thank you all for your advice and comfort. My grandmother asked me if he had autism yesterday (shes very blunt like that) and I came home crying my eyes out wondering if she was right... I really dont think THAT is the problem, but I just know in my heart that something is off. Thanks again ladies, ill keep you informed about what they say!
Im sure Ill get some backlash from this, but Im hoping I can get some good advice.
My son is 23 months old, he will be 2 on march 22. He doesnt talk. I will hear him say words often, but not to us, and not anything specific except for "eat" "ball" and "wa-wa" (water)
I do everything the books and internet has told me to do and I am losing my mind. I cant get him to tell me what he wants, he just stands there and screams. He squeaks at us as if we know exactly what he is saying. I am blaming it on me, my husband is blaming it on us, im just praying that there isnt something "wrong" with him developmentally and that it really IS a discipline problem. Idk what to do other than cry when he cries anymore...
I have been trying not to give in to things that he wants if he doesnt say the word but he will scream himself blue and go into a coughing fit because he really truly just looks confused. He will talk to the TV even, but not to me!!!
otherwise, he is a well behaved, interactive, playful little guy. He loves other kids but is more interested in individual play and will only pay attention to people he sees frequently or every day.
Thanks in advance... I also needed a vent too I guess.
