innotab 3s~ thoughts? PIOG

 I was thinking for my sons 4th bi8rthday of getting him the innotab to help him with learning writing, numbers etc. I'm mainly looking for something educational but too expensive. if have better ideas or recommendations that be awesome!!!

We got one for our daughter and she loves it. She knows she can't walk around with it and has a time limit on when she can use it. We believe the games they have are great for learning. I would suggest buying the battery packs so it doesn't kill so meany batteries lol.

 eh, I'm personally not a fan of electronics for learning basics but that's just me.

 We got the leapfrog iPad app and pencil stylus for DS to trace letters, number and shapes. It's absolutely frustrating--even for me.

My ds3 has a blast with the counting on Leapfrog and picking shapes.

I agree tracing letters is frustrating but he still tries that and bubble guppies is always what he is playing.

My kids love the leap frog stuff. I'm assuming the innotab would be similar. Good luck.
