My 2 year old eats all of his food sides but not the meat. He never wants to eat it. He cries when I try to make him. How do I know if he is really a picky eater or just that he doesn't eat meat?? Please help, it has been a full month of this already!!!

I think a lot of toddlers dont like meat because of the texture. I can get my DD to eat some chicken but most of her protein comes from eggs.

I agree about it possibly being a textural thing. My daughter went through a phase like that and now only likes chicken or turkey. My youngest won't eat meat at all. I think he just eats what he sees mommy eating though (I'm vegetarian). I think it is likely just a phase though if your son is surrounded by omnivores. Try giving him alternative protein sources and just keep offering small amounts of meat if you are opposed to a vegetarian diet. Beans are a great toddler friendly protein.
