My kids were both a little over two when they could go up and down without me worrying.
18mos-2y, but they were early walkers and going up and down stairs was necessary for daily life...I still at 3 and 4.5 follow them up most of the time just to be careful, but they could do it and did do it at mamaw's house by 2ish all the time.
I think a little before his second birthday. I don't remember exactly when I stopped using the gate at the bottom of the stairs on a daily basis.
18 months or so.
So far it has been different for my two sons... My first I felt confident he could do it without help starting around 2.5. My second is smaller and just wayyyy accident prone... He's going to be 3 next month and I still feel like I need to watch him close. It doesn't help that his legs are really short so it takes him a little extra effort to clear steps lol.
