Kindergarten in my town is full day. It seems to be really split in my area with half being full day and half being full day.

It's always been full day here in my town, in Northern Ontario.

I.went to school.in the 80's and it was full day then too.

And we start as young as 3 1/2 yrs old for kindergarten. Lol

It switched to full day a few years ago. We will be moving to Alberta before DS starts kindergarten though so it may be different. I hope it's full day.

Full day, it switched last year or the year before.

I'm not a fan. Part of the reason we moved to this district was because they still had 1/2 day. DS went to 1/2 day.

I quess a lot of things change when you have kids 7 years apart. LOL.

Half day.

16 kids per class, with a 1.5 hour overlap - morning is 8:30-11:50, afternoon is 10:15-2

So that's 32 kids in a classroom, with 1 adult....sometimes a parent volunteer or Aide would be there for 30 min-1 hour during overlap.

One of the many reasons I am homeschooling. I don't think those kind of numbers are good for kids to learn in.

This was the first year this school switched to full days every other day. I thought I wouldn't like it but it was way better! It was an adjustment to full day school but she got it.
