Right now we are using lolipops and stickers.
They got a prize once they fully trained. The girls both picked out a new baby doll at the store. My son hasn't started training yet.
I never gave rewards.
Quoting twweaty: Reward is praise and moms happy reaction ...
We hadn't really had a reward system until now. She got a prize the firs time she pottied in the potty, and when we were a the pool and she told us she needed to go poopoo and waited until we were on the potty. (My cousin was thankful as she was holding my daughter who was skinny dipping. LOL).
She does pretty good on her own because she likes when we say "Yay! Good job! You're such a big girl I'm so proud of you!!" and clap and give her big hugs.
I did just buy a bunch of stickers though because she has gotten to where she will tell me "Mommy I poopoo potty" after she has gone, or if she is playing sometimes not wanting to stop and potty. I'm making her a chart and she'll get 1 sticker for peepee and 2 for poopoo. She loves stickers so that in itself is exciting for her. Then when she fills up the chart she will get a prize that she can pick out.
There are some great ideas on pinterest.
We didn't do rewards or charts. Just praise.
