My girls, five and three, their favorite toys include the following:
they don't make noise...(thank goodness as I banned these long ago!)
they are open pretend type of play
they are interactive...you can change them (like mr. potato head)
they are long lasting
they are not tiny plastic junky things
right now, my girls love:
dolls, barbies (much to my dismay, but we allow it and know it's our job to teach them proper body image!), their ballerina jewelry boxes they got for dancing in the recital (do you know how hard these were to find???), their bike/trike, playdoh, drawing/coloring/painting, puppet shows, just playing pretend!!!

My son loves anything to color with be it markers crayons or paint. He calls it his home work and he does it all the time. he also love tanka trucks, books, Tool he has 2 tool benches and all the tool to go with. And his baby he feeds him and has him in his bed at night for story time
