My daughter will be attending preschool for the first time in the fall-she has been at home with me for the first three years and now it is time to send her off-how can I prepare her for this transition and what can expect???

I enrolled my son in a few group activities so that he would get used to being in situations without me, and following directions from someone other than me. It's been great for him. He's comfortable going off without me and is at the point where he doesn't look for me during his classes now.
Maybe you could enroll her in a day care part time over the summer. Some of them offer you 2 days a week for about 3 hours. It's a nice way to ease her into the separation.

Most of the time, you will find it harder on you then them!  One thing you could do is to go visit the school a few times.  Another is to try to have a playdate or two with a couple of the kids that will be in the class. Both things will make the class feel more familiar by the fall.
