I don't have a lot to say about myself. My son is my life. All I have ever wanted was for him to live a happy, healthy life. His depression is growing daily. We have made so many changes in the last 2-3 yrs, trying to find a comfortable place for him to land each day, including trying to keep up with his schooling. He's never been comfortable socializing with anyone, let alone kids his own age, yet that's what everyone keeps advising me to do. I'm really starting to feel hopeless. Everyday that he gets up he talks about how tired he is, yet the best I can tell he's sleeping ok. I'm so far out of options it's quite sad. Probably, like a lot of the kids, the only time he is happy is when he plays on his games. I have scaled that way back because it's the only thing I can use to force him to do school work, but then it takes away his relief valve too. HELP!! So, probably, the best way to describe me right now is sad, discouraged, frustrated, and yes, hopeless at times. I have no doubt whatsoever that their are people who deal with much more than I, but for me, things are getting unbearable. I'm a very patient person, but all I want to do when he starts getting down on himself is hide my head under a pillow, because absolutely nothing I've come up with helps him deal with it, or even understand that it's not his fault. Oh, so very, very, hard.
it sounds like he has apergers i have a 16 year old daugther with it, so i know where you are coming from. my daugther acted the same way there are ways to get them to come out of there shell. look me up and we can chat
