Welcome to my page :-)

Hi my name is May. I am a divorced, 31 year old, single mom of 3. 1 boy and 2 girls. I am a United Methodist. I have 3 tattoos. A butterfly on my right hand, a United Methodist cross on my left forearm, and an angel with my children's names going down my left leg. I came across Cafemom through Myspace. Everytime I went to send a message, an advertisement for here would come up...lol...so I figured I'd try it out. I'm addicted to it & I LOVE IT!!!! Stop by, say hello, and who knows we just might become friends :-) !
Don't forget to sign my guestbook :-D !! My kids and I love to see where everybody comes from on the map ;-) !!

I am often asked to describe the experience of raising a child with a disability - to try to help people who have not shared that unique experience to understand it, to imagine how it would feel. It's like this......
When you're going to have a baby, it's like planning a fabulous vacation trip - to Italy. You buy a bunch of guide books and make your wonderful plans. The Coliseum. The Michelangelo David. The gondolas in Venice. You may learn some handy phrases in Italian. It's all very exciting.
After months of eager anticipation, the day finally arrives. You pack your bags and off you go. Several hours later, the plane lands. The stewardess comes in and says, "Welcome to Holland."
"Holland?!?" you say. "What do you mean Holland?? I signed up for Italy! I'm supposed to be in Italy. All my life I've dreamed of going to Italy."
But there's been a change in the flight plan. They've landed in Holland and there you must stay.
The important thing is that they haven't taken you to a horrible, disgusting, filthy place, full of pestilence, famine and disease. It's just a different place.
So you must go out and buy new guide books. And you must learn a whole new language. And you will meet a whole new group of people you would never have met.
It's just a different place. It's slower-paced than Italy, less flashy than Italy. But after you've been there for a while and you catch your breath, you look around.... and you begin to notice that Holland has windmills....and Holland has tulips. Holland even has Rembrandts.
But everyone you know is busy coming and going from Italy... and they're all bragging about what a wonderful time they had there. And for the rest of your life, you will say "Yes, that's where I was supposed to go. That's what I had planned."
And the pain of that will never, ever, ever, ever go away... because the loss of that dream is a very very significant loss.
But... if you spend your life mourning the fact that you didn't get to Italy, you may never be free to enjoy the very special, the very lovely things ... about Holland.

JERSEY GIRLS ROCK!!!
I have big hair and
oversized sunglasses.
I drink corona from the bottle
or absolute straight up.
I spend my weekends at the mall,
My summers down the shore,
And late nights in a diner
with a plate of cheese fries.
I know which exits are which
and that there’s no decent beaches north of 100.
I have Springsteen on my I-pod and
I think Bon Jovi still looks hot in leather pants.
I spent prom weekend in Seaside,
and many a summer on LBI.
I know the mob isn’t just on the Sopranos.
I did Weird NJ before the book.
I sure as hell don’t pump my own gas
I think if you talk sh*t about our state
you should get the hell off our beaches.
I know better then to drive through Camden,
and that there are nice areas of Elizabeth.
I know what good pizza & good bagels taste like
I eat Boardwalk fried, zeppoles,
& taylor ham on a hard roll.
I’ve been on every coaster at 6 Flags.
and to all 5 boroughs
I speak my mind and don’t care what people think.
I’ll try anything once, twice if I like it.
I know how to have a good time.
I know that sometimes a kiss is just a kiss
But sometimes it’s so much more,
When I fall, I fall hard,
But I can bounce back just as quick.
I drive too fast, I drink too much.
I play my stereo too loud,
I love to feel the wind in my hair,
and the sand between my toes.
I know there’s no place on Earth
quite like New Jersey.
And that no matter where life takes me
This will always be home.
