Top 10 things about me...

1. I am the oldest - I have 3 younger sisters, no brothers. My family is large and I have about 14 younger cousins and their significant others as well. We all consider ourselves as close as brothers and sisters, and the relationships we have mirror any typical "sibling rivalry" at times!

2. I am a "mutt" - my dad is 100% Italian, Neopolitan to be exact. My mom's a mix: German, Swedish, Irish, English, Scotch, and Cherokee Indian. I married a 100% Puerto Rican, whose step-father is Dominican. That makes my son a whole lotta stuff lol!!

3. I am a nerd - Growing up mom and dad would not accept anything less than perfection, 100% all the time. I like learning new things, languages, reading, some educational TV.

4. I have a fear of heights - I'm only 5'0" and believe that God made me this height because he wanted me close to the ground!! It makes me uncomfortable to fly, and I used to even be very afraid of escalators.

5. I am New York Rangers hockey FREAK! My sisters and I got that from our (deceased) maternal grandfather who used to be a season ticket holder. Watching the team win the Cup in 1994 (even if it was only on TV) was a huge thrill for the whole family. Jaromir Jagr was never MY captain so I could care less if he's headed back to Europe. Mike Richter is a GOD among hockey men!

6. I am fluent in American Sign Language - after college I trained as an Interpreter for the Deaf. I was not able to pursue that full time, but a job teaching ASL at a local Catholic high school in the foreign language department fell into my lap. Six years later I am still there. I love the people I work with and (mostly) the kids. I also will be teaching Italian in the fall, and could teach Freshman Spanish if I had to!

7. I wear too many "hats" outside of the home - in addition to being a full time teacher, I am the Secretary for the LFA Local 1261, our union. I co-chair the Parish Pastoral Council at my church. I have also started and stopped working on my Master's Degree twice and don't know if I will ever finish...

8. I am a romance novel and reality TV junkie - all that stress of growing up and reading for learning, and nowadays with the little time I have to myself has led me to entertainment that doesn't require a lot of thought and attention!

9. I have not traveled outside of North America - I have been to Niagara Falls, Canada three times (it's one of my favorite places in the world!) and Puerto Rico three times as well. Other than that I have not been anywhere outside of the US. I don't even have a passport!

10. I feel unfulfilled in many aspects of my life. Too much to get into in this forum...
