My name is Dana. I am type 1 and was dxd in March 06' I met my huby in 98' on-line. He is from Alabama I am from Richland, WA. God brought us together over 3,000 miles away. I am a SAHM to Lauren Ann (bug) who will be 2 in June of 07. Jason is too funny and he makes life just...AWESOME!!! I am taking shots now but am working on getting a pump!!! I have been through so much these past few almost 2 yrs, if I wrote it all down it would take forever he he. I almost died like twice because of the big d. One time I had a really bad case of keytonacidosis and had to stay in ICU for over a week. And the other was one of the (MANY) endos that I went too gave me 2 fast acting insulins, insead of 1 fast and one long term!!! For the past year I have .......been sent around so much, not being on insulin like I should have been, going to doctor to doctor, changing my ratio's I don't know how many times, being so sick with my daugther before she was born I almost came home with a permanent I.V. in and then having an emergnency c-section, the she had colic for the first 4 months ect....whew. My body is a roller-coaster of crazyness and its hard to get control of my d! But I am getting there...slowly but shurly!! he he. I am getting either an OmniPod pump or an Animas 2020 pump! Either one should be great for my lifestyle!! I have a very blessed life and I thank God everyday for it!! I am also blessed to have such a wonderful, extensive support group for my diabetes...that is more like another family!!!!! I can't wait to meet other new DM's that I can share my joys, sorrows and everything inbetween. I pray that this pump will help me take control...once and for all!!! I have now have a great endo, the education I have been longing for and the drive to do what I need to do every single day to take care of myself and live a healthy life!!!
