  • Personal Statement

I am living a purposeful life despite chronic Migraine, a frustrating movement disorder called Dystonia, Lupus /Sjogren's and Autoimmune Thyroid conditions.  Unfortunately, my kids are dealing with this genetic lotto as well.

I am a Migraine leader for WEGO Health where I maintain an active and educational Blog and contribute to the WEGO Health Migraine Newsletter. I also help to lead the Dystonia and Thyroid communities there.

I live in the country surrounded by the beautiful and picturesque rolling hills of our 240 acre horse farm. My home used to be filled inside and out with my own, or our “adopted” teenagers, cats, dogs (purebred Hypo-allergenic Havanese and Huskies, rescues) and my beautiful horses. In the last two years, my life has quieted immensely.

I enjoy working with youth and nearly all of my kids have gone on to compete successfully at the national level in various horse related activities.

Although my health issues have forced me to retire from my jobs as both an Equine Reproduction Manager and Emergency Dispatcher, a positive attitude and sense of humor have been important to me, and I hope to use my unique experiences to connect with others in our journey toward optimal health for better living.

My other interests include Emergency Management, Citizen's Corp, CERT, Search and Rescue and First Responder programs in our county.  I am a retired stained glass designer and artist.  I enjoy my church family and friends.
