Hello and welcome, my name is Jennifer Cunningham I am a mother of two and have been an Independent Business Owner with Ameriplan® since 2009. Working outside the home was easy to do until I had children. When you become a parent, your priorities change. I had no idea of the impact those little ones would have on me. I had to made the choice to quit my job when I found out I was pregnant with my first child in 2006. My husband was making good money at the time and we could afford for me to do that. However, my life did not turn into that fairytale. In, 2008 his company issued a statement that they were seizing production on the product created at that plant. It was at this time we found out we were expecting our second little miracle.
In 2008, when the economy became unstable, I decided that maybe it would be a good idea for me to go back to work. I have a BA degree and plenty of work experience, so I decided I would apply for some jobs out there and bring in some extra money. To my surprise, I was able to land a position in an HR Department with a company that paid $12.00 per hour. (Unfortunately, where I lived and the economy that was one of the highest paying jobs.)
Then all of sudden reality kicked in I would have to get up every morning at 4:30am just to get my two little ones and myself ready to walk out the door by 6:30am. I would drop them off at daycare and have to be to the office no later than 7:30am. I would then work until 5:30pm pick my kids up around 6:30pm from daycare and head home to meet up with my husband and cook dinner, put the kids to bed and start all over the next day. I would not have any quality time with children and I had been able to stay home with them since they were born. Talk about a reality check for them and myself.
I then took that $12.00 an hour and started to dissect it by putting number to paper. Seeing just what I would make per week after taxes, daycare, gas, lunch etc...
Here is my breakdown....
(Gross per week was $480.00. After taxes I would be left with $336.00, I had to pay daycare, here where I live it is $125.00 per child so I had to subtract $250.00 for two children. This left me with a whopping $86.00. I still had to get gas just to get back and forth. I do not know about your tank but mine takes $50.00 just to fill it up. Now I have $36.00 a week. Are you kidding me? I am paying to work my JOB! I turned down that position not because I could not do the work or that I could place my children in daycare but because I would not make enough to even pay for food for the family.)
I started my adventure with Ameriplan® in 2009 and with realistic goals set. (Not to be a millionaire in six months or even one year but to be able to make the amount of bring home I would have had with the position after all those expenses were paid out. Yes, you read it correct $36.00 a week!
I was able to do this and more in less than one year with working my own personal business with Ameriplan®. I made a commitment to my family and myself and in less than one year, I acquired two solid promotions being recognized for the first time by a corporate office. I have never felt so fulfilled within my professional life as I do now! Where there is a will there is a way and if you have that will, you will make that way for yourself and your family.
If you feel that you would be a good fit for my team I encourage you to request an interview with me. Remember knowledge is power and no one can take that away. I wish you the best in your journey no matter where it takes you.
