Lets see...me. I am 22 years old and already a mother of two. Well technically i have only given birth to one child, my son, jacob. But both Wendy and Jacob are my children, as Wendy's biological mother only exists to break Wendys heart on a regular basis by breaking promises of spending time with her. This is my only major problem that i dont know how to deal with. Which is why i am on this site. I need to know how to be a better Stepparent. Being only 22 i had no idea how to be a parent until my son was born. The difference is Wendy is now almost 9. I have been a part of her life for over a year now and have been more like a friend to her than a mother, just being there to pick up the pieces when she gets let down by an alcoholic bio mom. She has a knowledge of things like custody, her mothers drug problems, and how she left when Wendy was 2 months old, that i feel is not appropriate for a child to know. And she cannot handle it. Shes just a kid. Anyways i want to be able to give her the family that my son was born into, because i feel like any other children my husband and i have together will just make her jealous because they both have a mommy and a daddy. I want to learn how to make her feel like she has a solid mother figure in her life, despite 8 years of knowing otherwise. Thats a little bit about my situation. Me, theres not too much to know about. My husband and i met in college, he is 32 and i am 22. We were friends for 3 years before we started dating and when we did i just knew he was the one i wanted to be with forever. After talks about getting engaged, we found out about Jacob in July last year, then married in October. The pregnancy went perfect, as did the delivery. No complications at all, and there he was, my 8lb 12oz miracle. Since then i have ben juggling work, household duties, cooking, and raising 2 kids while my husband works 2 jobs and usually does not get a chance to see us. So thats me and my life as it is now, i hope to make friends here and get a chance to talk to other moms to become a better one myself.
