Jessa Blades is a makeup artist, natural beauty expert and women’s health advocate based in New York City. Tired of sacrificing women’s health in the name of beauty, Jessa ditched toxic brands in 2008 and founded her company Blades Natural Beauty, sharing her knowledge of beauty tips and techniques while calling attention to the best healthy makeup and skincare brands on the market. As an advocate, Jessa works closely with The Campaign for Safe Cosmetics and Teens Turning Green, both of which are non-profit organizations committed to making the world of makeup and personal care a healthier experience.  

In recent years, Jessa has emerged as a go-to expert in the burgeoning natural beauty movement. Featured as one of Glamour magazine’s “70 Amazing Eco-Heroes” and chosen as TreeHugger's "Best Green Makeup Artist," Jessa has contributed to Vogue.com, The New York Times, Whole Living, Natural Health, and Organic Spa, with appearances on The Today Show and PAPERmag.com. With ten years of experience in the fashion and beauty industry, Jessa has a deep understanding of what is truly beneficial and naturally beautiful for each woman. When she's not working on set for editorial fashion clients, Jessa uses this knowledge to teach classes and workshops for women on how to apply and wear makeup and how to choose the best and healthiest products, including her own line of handcrafted skincare. Utilizing her love of herbs and plant medicine, Jessa creates small-batch beauty products for her clients and women everywhere.
