I've been a SAHM for a little over 3 years now.  I'd always wanted to be home with my kids, especially after Trevor was born.  Unfortunately, my husband found out he was being laid off, so I had to continue working.  After he found employment I started having childcare issues.  Either the provider had no idea how to handle my kids or I couldn't afford them.  Most in home daycare providers wanted over half my paycheck for just my 2 boys!  I don't think so!  It was perfect timing.  We found out Trevor had an overall muscle weakness requiring speech therapy.  Then Alex started school, and suffice it to say, it was quite rough.  It wasn't until the following school year we found out what was going on with him.  Kayla was a great help through all of this.  Now that the kids are in school all day, I've registered for some classes starting in January.  I've decided that when I am ready to go back to work, I don't want a job, I want a career!

 With whatever free time (lol) I have, I read, do word puzzles, listen to music, play with my animals, or chat with friends on the computer.  I never miss General Hospital as well as some prime time shows.

I try to get to the movies but it's hard to find someone to watch the kids.  If I know about a movie I want to see far enough in advance, then I make it a point to find a sitter and go with my husband.  I like to see concerts as well, but they can get very pricey.
