My name is Rochelle, I'm 20yrs old. I really want to share my story with anyone who will listen!!! I am engaged to my best friend Ryan. We have been through a lot together especially the last 7 months. To began our journey on the bumpy road Ryan's wonderful father passed away on December 11, 2008 he was our best friend we were both very close to him. He was such a great man and his wonderful heart will never be forgotten. The only thing he wanted before he died was grandchildren. We found out I was pregnant just about a week or a little more before he passed away... With TWINS!!! I have endometriosos (It means that a type of tissue that lines your uterus is also growing outside your uterus.) I had problems getting pregnant for about a year or so then I had surgery for my endo and was BLESSED a couple months later with my twin boys. I had a pretty normal pregnancy UNTIL... I was about 25 weeks along and I was feeling muscle pain for days then I started to have contractions so I went to the hospital a couple times. They would monitor me, stop my contraction and then I would go home. I went to my wonderful care provider for a more in depth check-up. She asked to check me into the hospital for monitoring and to have and ultrasound done. They noticed that my baby A had lots of extra fluid (polyhydramnios) and baby B had almost none. She asked to send me to Minneapolis for a level 2 ultrasound. When we arrived there they diagnosed us with stage 2 Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome. They admitted me to Abbott Northwestern hospital where I was to stay til I had my babies. I had to have 2 amniocentesis (a procedure in which amniotic fluid is removed from the uterus).I was in the hospital for about a week before they decided that the babies would be better off outside of me then inside. May 5, 2009 (27 weeks 2 days gestation) Josiah Anthony born at 2:37 weighting 1lb 3oz and Andreas John born at 2:38 weighting 1lb 12oz were welcomed in to the world. They were rushed over to the NICU at Children's hospital for care. They both had there ups and downs from day to day. Sadly just 9 short days later I got the dreaded phone call from the hospital saying I needed to come down because they didn't think Andreas (baby A) was going to make it. Andreas passed away May 14, 2009 from pseudomonas (a very bad bacteria infection almost always fatal in infant). Then if losing Ryan's father and our son Andreas wasn't enough our other beloved son Josiah fought like hell to try beat the same powerful bacteria. On May 20, 2009 our 15 day old son passed away to be with his brother and grandfather. My fiance and I are trying to cope with our losses, living day to day. I"m very lost and numb feeling, I don't know what comes next for me. Ryan is very sad and angry. I am patiently waiting to be able to get pregnant again (not to make less of my boys or there lives) but I want so badly to be a mother again. Thanks for taking your time to read our story!!!
