About me.... I'm not very good at these things! So here are some essentials:
I believe I was born 10 years 'too late' - I consider myself a flower child/hippie.
I believe in gentle discipline, co-sleeping, breastfeeding, and most things natural or organic. (I also try to educate people about breastfeeding, feel free to ask me anything if you need advice or support, or have questions about nursing your wee ones!)
I believe in soul mates - and am blissfully elated to have found mine, even though we met later than I would have hoped.
I always wanted to have a little girl with a big brother - so my family is complete!
I love genealogy, and am constantly searching for some ancestor of mine or my husband's.
I hope to visit Ireland some day, and would love to visit any Carribean island again.
I met my husband at work - I was put 'in charge' of training him but was tongue-tied those two weeks. Genius with common sense, he learned with ease even when I stammered the answers to his questions.
I asked him out for our first date, and remember that night with explicit clarity to this day - cold rain reminds me of it, because it was a rainy night in December of 1999.
My parents are still happily married, since 1976, and I look up to that example (and of course, hope to beat it when we are their ages.)
I pay close attention to and learn from my dreams, and have had visits from my family who are on 'the other side' often. I love visits from my paternal grandmother (who passed in 2002, but is helping me quilt in dreams) and the man I've always called my maternal grandfather (no relation whatsoever, but he's the most awesome guy a girl could have for a Papaw - he comes and smiles and hugs me in my dreams).
I'm currently trying to decide which religion fits me and what I already believe in the best. I never ask questions in a snarky way, it's always genuine curiousity.
I'm open to further questions, if you want to know more about me, and I'm not easily offended. I'm also known to ramble when I talk/type and share TMI a lot, so be careful what you ask! LOL
A friend of mine joined Cafe Mom...could you invite her as a friend? http://www.cafemom.com/home/Sgtmomof9
Thank you SO MUCH for that link! It has LOTS of info on it. I was reading thru it...then got to the bottom and realized there was like at least four more pages to go! I was EXCITED! LOL....doesn't take much ya know! LOL! Is it ok if I throw that link in a journal to share with others, too?
I'm feeling READY! LOL I'm sure you understand all that entails. Honestly, I'm most ready to not have people staring at me and saying the random stupid things people say. Sunday, I was accused of trying to steal a basketball from Walmart. It was really hard to give my fake laugh on that one!
I didn't watch it on the Today show, but the link that was on the CafeMom Journal. WOW...it was actually kinda eye opening. Then I was like....Oh Gosh...is that what I look like? Scary!
