    First Day Of Preschool

    August 13, 2009
    A lyssa Catherine, 3, started preschool today, and had a GREAT first day. “It was fun,” Alyssa said, “At first I cried a little because I missed my Mommy and Daddy, but then I was ok when we played games and had story time, and my teacher even gave me a sticker!” Alyssa wasn’t the only one to shed a few tears today. Alyssa’s mommy stated, “It was a bittersweet moment. I was excited for Alyssa, but sad to spend all day away from her. She’s not my baby anymore. She’s a big girl.” Alyssa is looking forward to a fun year with her new friends and classmates. During her daily classes, she will be introduced to Spanish, art, music, and computers. “I can’t wait!” Alyssa exclaimed.

  • Personal Statement

    Alright. Here's the scoop on me, as of Jan. 4, 2009:

    - I "stole" my hubby from a friend of mine back in 1992. We've been married since 1995.

    - I work from home/telecommute as a technical writer while I care for my daughter. This is a great opportunity, but it's also lonely, boring, and isolated, with a lot of long hours.

    - CafeMom is my main connection to the outside world, so yeah, I'm addicted.

    - Hubby and I want to build a new home on our property some day, but we must first sell our current home... in this lousy market.

    - I love getting out of the house, especially on weekends. We go camping as a family quite a bit.

    - I am a big Disney fan, and I am very excited to have passes to Disney World this year.

    - Alyssa will be our one and only child for a number of reasons.

    - My first pregnancy ended in a miscarriage. It was heartbreaking, but Alyssa was conceived only a couple of weeks afterward.

    - I developed pre-eclampsia when I was 35 weeks pregnant and was hospitalized for 10 days before being induced.

    - I am a Catholic and sing in my church choir. I joined the choir when I was pregnant with Alyssa, primarily to ensure that I attend church every week. (It's not easy to "skip" when people are counting on you!) I love it!

    - I have 2 cats, who are about 9 years old. They are your typical fickled felines.

    Hey.. sorry i dont always remember to check my chatterbox..lol.. we got tent camping.. the places we usually go wont fit a camper..lol.. we have been bringing our kids since they were between 4 and 6 months old.. just depended on what month they were born and camping season rolled around..lol never been the disneys fort wilderness.. must try it someday :0)

    OMGosh!! Your poor family!! The swine flu would have totally freaked me out! They said it's supposed to be bad this year, too : ( I hope work lets up for you!! You always work so hard...
