Alright. Here's the scoop on me, as of Oct. 10, 2011:

- I "stole" my hubby from a friend of mine back in 1992. We've been married since 1995.

- I work from home/telecommute as a technical writer so I can care for my daughter after school. This is a great opportunity, but it's also lonely, boring, and isolated, with a lot of long hours.

- CafeMom and Facebook are my main connections to the outside world, so yeah, I'm addicted.

- Hubby and i just recently completed a major remodel and addition, turning our 3 bedroom/2 bath house into a 4 bedroom/3 bath house.

- I love getting out of the house, especially on weekends. We go camping as a family quite a bit.

- I am a big Disney fan, and we usually make 5-6 visits to Walt Disney World each year. This year, however, I am a little sad but relieved to say we let our Disney passes expire. We were all starting to show signs of Disney burn-out (gasp!), so we're taking a little break.

- Alyssa will be our one and only child for a number of reasons.

- My first pregnancy ended in a miscarriage. It was heartbreaking, but Alyssa was conceived only a couple of weeks afterward.

- I developed pre-eclampsia when I was 35 weeks pregnant and was hospitalized for 10 days before being induced.

- I am a Catholic and sing in my church choir. I joined the choir when I was pregnant with Alyssa, primarily to ensure that I attend church every week. (It's not easy to "skip" when people are counting on you!) I love it!

- I have a cat named Gracie, who is about 12 years old. She is a sweet, soft, and fickle feline who is starting to show her age. In 2010, we unexpectedly lost her sister, Jasmine, to feline lymphoma, and I'm still hurting from losing her.
