I'm a mother and wife first and foremost in my life. My husband is a wonderful man who works hard to support our little family. I love my children and they bring me so much joy. I've got five of them! My children are all such interesting people. I see so much hope for the future when I look in their eyes. They spend most of their time working and playing together, exploring the world around them. They are lucky.

When I'm not chasing kids, I'm reading. I often find myself reading 5 or 6 books at a time. I can't just pick one and stick with it. I also love to write. I'm a libertarian and I enjoy learning about history and government and politics and philosophy. I'm also very interested in natural and homeopathic remedies, urban farming, and other cultures and religions.

We homeschool with a family-centered interest-driven style that leans heavily on classics. We read lots of stories, look up stuff on the computer, listen to music, draw pictures, sing songs, dance, play, and, when we need to, we sit still and think about stuff. I don't think people do enough sitting quietly and thinking these days.

Feel free to take a peek at my blog if you're wondering what's on my mind.

I run a yahoo group for moms interested in Leadership Education, aka Thomas Jefferson Education. We have lots of very interesting discussions on all subjects that are inspiring to us. You're welcome to come join the conversation!

I am also involved in The Mothers Institute, a very exciting new concept. I hope you check it out!
