Yes - I totally agree. It took me a while to feel teh "madly in love" thing. I loved my son but I was too exhausted and out of it to really be in tune with being a mom and him.

Thanks for your comment on my Labor and Delivery post! To answer your question about how I felt after I had my son, well.... When they first put him on my tummy I was still in shock I think, but after I got to my room and everyone went home I just laid with him and cuddled. I did fall instantly in love with him but took a few weeks for me to really "get" that I was a mom. So funny that it happends for some women right away but for others it takes a little while:)
